LNVM (Light Night Vision Monocular)
The monocular built on the same engineering school as the LAB-NVS — bare housing 52 g, 225 g configured, standard AA battery, 40 h minimum battery life. NNVT image tube included (official France distributor). Controlled-atmosphere assembly and purge included. The entry point to professional night vision, from €1,620 incl. VAT.
1 / 16Mono.
No compromise.
Designing a monocular isn't amputating a binocular. The LNVM is drawn for mono use — distributed mass, one-handed ergonomics, electronics optimised for long battery life.
Same engineering school as the LAB-NVS
Same gram obsession, same material criteria and same hand-checked QA as the binocular. Designed in France as a scientific instrument — not as half a LAB-NVS.
PA12 polyamide, MJF-printed
Housing printed in polyamide 12 by Multi-Jet Fusion. High mechanical strength, near-perfect isotropy: this process is what makes a 52 g housing possible without sacrificing MIL-STD-grade robustness.
Designed as a monocular from day one
The LNVM isn't an amputated LAB-NVS. Every part is sized for single-eye use — balance, grip, and mass distribution tuned for long-duration carry without cervical fatigue.
The numbers,
exactly.
All values are measured in-house on a production build. The full configuration includes image tube, 40° optical set, AA battery, and sacrificial iris.

Compatible with
your existing kit.
16 / 18 / FAT ANVIS tubes, PVS-14 or ANVIS optics — the LNVM integrates into any existing NVG kit. No complete re-investment: you reuse what you already have.
18 mm tubes in the configurator · 16 mm / FAT ANVIS on request
The configurator offers NNVT 18 mm tubes — Silicate is the official France distributor, factory data sheet supplied. 16 mm compact and FAT ANVIS (aviation) formats are available by quote within 48 h.
PVS-14 in the configurator · ANVIS on request
PVS-14 sets (40° / 50° FOV) directly in the configurator. ANVIS sets for aviation configurations are available on request.
J-Arm compatible — every standard on the market
The LNVM fits every J-Arm on the market (Wilcox G24, Norotos Titan, Rhino II and others). No proprietary interface — keep your existing setup and the LNVM slots straight in.
To go
further.
Mono or bino, FOM, mounts, export — the most recurring questions. For specific cases, contact us, response within 48 h.
Why a monocular rather than a binocular?
One eye to observe, the other free for dark adaptation and depth perception. It's the reference use for solo observers, hunters, and long-distance patrol operators. Bonus: half the mass, twice the battery life.
Is the LNVM derived from an amputated binocular?
No. The LNVM shares the LAB-NVS engineering philosophy, but the housing is specifically designed for monocular use — carrying a single battery, single tube, single optic, without structural overload.
What battery and battery life?
A single standard AA battery (LR6), no proprietary format. Nominal battery life 40 h minimum with alkaline, more with lithium.
Compatible with my PVS-14 mount?
Yes. The LNVM is compatible with every J-Arm on the market — Wilcox, Norotos, Rhino II and other standard mounts. If your mount is unusual, contact us before ordering.
Which tubes and optics are compatible?
On the tube side, the configurator offers 18 mm NNVT tubes (Silicate is the official France distributor, every tube ships with factory data sheet). 16 mm and FAT ANVIS formats are available on request. On the optic side, PVS-14 sets (40° and 50° FOV) in the configurator; ANVIS sets on request. Contact us for a quote within 48 h.
What's the lead time?
30 business days from payment confirmation (and export file validation if needed). Faster than the LAB-NVS — fewer parts to assemble, fewer individual checks.
Which tube to choose for civilian use?
For observation / hunting / enthusiast use, a FOM 1400-1600 P45 is an excellent entry point. Beyond (1800+, gated), you're paying mostly for performance in lit urban areas. See the Notebook article on FOM trade-offs.
Export restrictions?
The LNVM, like any optronic system, falls under the EU regulation on dual-use goods (EU 2021/821) and, depending on the tube, the ML15 category of French controls. Outside the EU, a signed End-User Statement (EUS) is required before shipping.
What does the configurator purchase include vs the bare housing?
Every fully configured LNVM includes — at no extra cost — controlled atmosphere assembly and nitrogen purge, which keep internal condensation and fogging out for the lifetime of the device. IP-68 sealing itself is delivered by the seals and validated unit by unit before shipping. Both services are also included on any upgrade (tube or optic) fitted in an existing Silicate housing. The bare housing purchase does not cover these steps: you assemble yourself.
Can you switch from LNVM to LAB-NVS later?
Yes. The tube and optic are transferable to the LAB-NVS housing (same 18 mm / PVS-14 standards). You then buy only a second bare housing — no complete re-investment.
LNVM
vs PVS-14.
Technical and price comparison with the PVS-14, the market reference monocular. On tube catalogue depth, the PVS-14 keeps the edge. On weight, MIL-STD-810H sealing, price and French production — the LNVM wins.
Two ways
into the LNVM.
Already have your tubes and optics? Buy the bare housing and assemble it yourself. Starting from scratch? Configure the full kit in a few steps.
LNVM Housing only
The bare housing (52 g), ready to take your 18 mm tubes and PVS-14 optical set. Ideal for migrating an existing kit to the lightest monocular on the market.
